Come on in and meet the best trail horses in Guernsey County. We hope you enjoy what you see in the quality of our horses. All of our horses have been a part of our family for several years. Of course we have added horses over the years, but all are very well seasoned mounts. With our level of experience and expert knowledge of horses, each horse is put through a very vigorous trial period before being offered to our clients.
We choose to winter our horses instead of selling them in the fall as some facilities do. That way we know that we have an excellent quality, safe herd of horses who know their jobs. When you're ready to ride~~so are our horses! No hassles of trying to find and purchase "good, safe" horses in the spring, we already have them!!
Arrow is a 20+ yr. old Quarter horse gelding. He has been with us for over 7 years on a free board lease as his owners moved and had nowhere to keep him. He is about as honest as they come, and can be ridden by both 6 yr old children and adults. Will also allow double riders. Thanks to Dana and family for trusting us with Arrow for so many years!
Cisco is approximately 21 years old and we have owned him for 13 of his years. This gelding was an abuse case who we felt sorry for and purchased to save him from a terrible future. Once he learned that he needn't fear us he began to love his place here at the barn, Cisco is one of those go anywhere, do anything geldings who is loved by all. We use him for small children and adults alike.
Diablo is a 16 yr old gelding who has spent the last 9 yrs with us as a trail horse. Diablo is one of our main mounts for small children. He has carried children as young as 4 yrs old without a hitch. He has also been used by a few local 4-H children who had no project horse. We haven't found anything he can't or won't do to please his rider!
This is Frenchie. She is an 8 yr old Quarter horse mare who was born and raised here. We bought her mother out of Canada and didn't know she was bred until she arrived. Therefore the name "Frenchie"! Anyone who can stand on 2 feet can ride this mare! Also one of our double rider horses!
Penny is a sweet little 10 yr old mare who has been with us for 5 years. She is a great horse to ride and can be ridden by everyone. She is not real tall, but she's pretty darned hearty!
This is Rusty, he is a 13 yr old registered Pinto gelding who was brought here for training 9 yrs ago. Marci just had to have him so we bought him before his training was complete! He now belongs to Marci but is used here at the stable. He also has been leased for 4-H to a few different youth in the area. Rusty has also been a mount for many children who participate in youth rodeo. What a versatile gelding he is!

This is Miss Daisy, she is a dapple grey Percheron Mare who was born in Canada and sent to the States through a PMU Rescue facility. We traded a trail gelding to bring Daisy to our farm for our 8 yr old Daughter, Katie. Daisy is broke to ride. (although not one of our trail horses)
Meet Fancy our 10yr old Palomino Quarter horse mare. She is my personal horse and is a true gem of a ride! She has been with us since she was a mere 14 mos old. This girl is a wonderful horse to ride and can be ridden by anyone who can sit up in the saddle. She is also used as one of our double rider horses. Very good temperment and more than willing to please.
This beautiful mare is an 8 year old Registered Paint. A real pleasure to ride! You are sure to enjoy your ride on this mare. We have decided to call her Twinkie around the barn but her registered name is Dixie's Gold Solis. Twinkie was purchased on May 9th @ Sugarcreek Livestock Auction along with her full brother who we sold to a wonderful gentleman from South Carolina, the same day!
UPDATE: Marci sold Runt to a family in Indiana for their daughter. They simply adore him and we are sure he loves his new home!
Runt is also a Registered Paint and belongs to my oldest daughter Marci. He has been with us for quite sometime.
We hope you enjoy being able to look over the horses we have to offer! We try to keep these photos updated regularly!
Meet Iddo (eye-doe) He is my 8 yr old daughter Katie's barrel horse. He has become quite the spoiled man at 13 yrs. old. He and Katie won the Small-Fry division in Barrels at Shenandoah Valley Riding Club in Pleasant City, Oh! Congrats baby girl! Remember~ Cowgirls don't cry & Iddo is not afraid of that darned dog!
This is Isabelle, one of our future Belgian hitch horses. She is currently in training to show under saddle. She stands a whopping 18.2 HH and trust me that is alot of horse when you're on her back!
Gizmo aka: Moose belongs to very dear friends of ours, Marge & Harold Dorland.
Harold purchased the winning ticket in our 4-H fundraiser raffle. Congratulations Harold you lucky dog!! Giz has come back to Drafty Acres for the winter. He is a great colt to have at the barn and is more than willing to please.
UPDATE:
Spring has sprung and Gizmo will soon be returning to his home in Cambridge. He has been gelded and will begin training upon his arrival back home!
Sallie is a nice little 5 yr. old Quater Horse mare who came to us out of Tennessee. She is a joy to have around and even more fun to ride!
